Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower middle and high school students to succeed academically and gain confidence by pairing them with high-achieving peers for focused, supportive study sessions using the proven method of body doubling.

The Buddy Doubles Model

The Buddy Doubles Model pairs students with a trained high-achieving peer (their 'Buddy Double') who serve as a supportive, non-judgmental presence. This structure is based on the body doubling technique, which has been shown to improve attention, reduce procrastination, and increase task completion and organization, especially in students with ADHD or executive functioning challenges.

The Problem

Many students struggle to stay motivated, focused, and organized when working on homework, projects, and studying - especially in increasingly digital and distracted environments. Traditional tutoring doesn't always meet the emotional or social needs tied to these challenges.

Buddy Doubles pairs a middle school student with a high school mentor to enhance productivity and study skills through body doubling. Though body doubling is typically associated with children with ADHD, a major reason for this is that ADHD inhibits focus. As a result, body doubling will significantly help anyone with focus struggles or an easily distracted person - not only one with diagnosed ADHD.
